To continue on the journey of building their wine legacy, CJ and Elise are now owners of a 318-acre vineyard property in the Willamette Valley of Oregon.
They are working with a team of experts to identify the best clones for particular sites on the property and developing sustainable practices to ensure they are good stewards to this beautiful and fertile land.

A letter from CJ
The concept of legacy has always been important to me. Over the last 10 years, I’ve made decisions in my professional career and in my off-court life that were centered around building a legacy for myself and my family that could be passed down through generations.
I took a love for drinking wine and turned it into an opportunity to learn more and do more in the industry with my wine label, McCollum Heritage 91. As we have been building the brand, there was a recognition that, as I set out to define my legacy, there would be a place for me in wine.
I began to ask myself - how can I learn and do even more in wine? How can I have the biggest impact? The answer? When it comes to legacy, ownership is the name of the game.
So in 2021, my wife, Elise, and I purchased 318 acres in the Yamhill-Carlton American Viticultural Area (AVA) with the goal of planting and developing a vineyard property that would allow us to move forward with building our legacy in a tangible way. To date, we have planted 7-acres of the property and are working very hard with our incredible team to continue to set the vision for what this venture can be.
Our team is excited to continue to share more of our journey with all of you and I personally am looking forward to learning more and immersing myself in the wine industry for years to come.
Wine is my legacy.
